A little smaller than an little egret, the plumage is white with an ochre task on the head. The beak is short and yellow. Little shy. |

Rather sedentary, sort of African origin. Often in the presence of the cattle, it perch on their back to catch the parasites. |
Habitat : | Lakes, banks, meadows where are the big wild mammals in Africa or the cattle in Europe. More and more numerous in camargue. |
Food : | Insects, mollusks, frogs. |
